Welcome! After years of being prodded by friends and family, I have finally launched a website to gather and showcase some of my music, writing, oral history projects, philanthropy and tutoring services. I hope you enjoy the exploration of these pages. Feel free to get lost in the music and stories.

In addition to these pursuits, I have been a Writing and ESL instructor at the City Colleges of Chicago for over three decades. Prior to that, I was the Executive Director of the Tibetan Resettlement Project-Chicago, which coordinated the resettlement of Tibetan refuges to Chicago in the 1990s. I’ve worked as a public television documentary film producer, public radio essayist, Op-ed contributor to the Chicago Tribune, small business owner, restaurant server, rideshare driver, grocery deliverer, radio jingle writer and busker.

I have spent much of my professional and volunteer life working with immigrants and refugees in Chicago. I founded the Libman Family Foundation, whose mission is to provide college scholarships for immigrant and refugee high school seniors. I’ve also served as a mentor for first-generation college students with Evanston Scholars, and I sponsor a Rohingya refugee family through Refugee One.

If you are looking to support good work in the community, I urge you to invest in one of these three organizations.

Many thanks.
Jeff
